This is an experiment in creating 'chance' music using John Cage's "Apartment House 1776" as a model. The idea is to take an existing piece of music and apply a set of random data on its individual elements.
For "Tetridic Particles", I used an arrangement of the Russian Folk song, "Korobeiniki" (which is likely better known for its use in Tetris). I collected chance data by playing Tetris and recording various parameters as events occured within the game. The collected data was used to modify individual note events from the original piece.
"Tetridic Particles" was released on Get Lost, a collection of works from late 2007.
